AU/CRAU: No!
Age: Facebook Complicated. Okay but let's do this. Body Age: 17 Chronological Age: 7 and please note Auldrant years are roughly double ours making it more like he's actually 34 and 14. But obviously he doesn't look at all 34 so they probably age slower too. TL;DR I'LL BE SAYING HE'S 17 MOST OF THE TIME OR 7 DEPENDING ON WHATEVER.
History: Luckily Tales of fandom is good at this so
Luke's wiki page and
Abyss general page.
Personality:
To understand how Luke became the person he is by the end of the game, you have to understand where he came from. That is to say he was born a blank slate or rather created as one, a replica of the real Luke fon Fabre. As a replica, although he was in a ten year old body, he had to learn everything from walking and talking to the days of the week to his parents' faces to the names of food. If it was basic, he had to learn it. But he was raised in an extremely isolated, sheltered environment, coddled by the servants and his mother and otherwise rejected or pressured by others to become 'Luke' again.
Growing up, Luke put on an arrogant front that became a good chunk of his personality in order to deal with his own ignorance. He knew nothing and felt like he was constantly being mocked or looked down on for it, to the point where he simply assumed it was how people thought. He adopted a policy that he didn't need a past, that everything he lost must have been meaningless, because otherwise he would be bound so tightly to the past that he would never have a future. But despite this liberating statement, it didn't inspire Luke to do much.
Although he tried on countless occasions to escape the manor, he never succeeded, simply living in luxury and sheltered from political issues and the people of the world. He knew nothing of war and death or the daily struggles of the poor. He didn't feel the need to educate himself, either. He spent his days playing with Guy, moping around the manor and eagerly waiting for Van to show up for sword training.
Even once thrust out into the world, his bad traits became more prominent. Constantly encountered new things and situations, he chose to retreat in on himself, yelling or shouting that he didn't know. He wanted to be told how to feel and what to think but at the same time refused orders. Oh sure he had his good points like the underlying kindness that one might expect from a sheltered, lonely child and he truly did worry and care for all lives to the point where killing another human being even months later still kept him awake at night shaking. He tried to find resolve, to become a hero and finally gain everyone's respect that way but in the end his ignorance and dependence on others caused a very grave mistake that took the lives of thousands.
He denied it and screamed and cried but when it was over and he was alone, he finally realised that wasn't the way to live. That's when the current Luke was really born.
Although he kept many traits - he's incredibly easy to rile, sulky, bratty and everything else you'd expect from a child - he made a vow to change. He opened his eyes to the suffering that people went through. He wouldn't let up on himself either. Luke really goes to extremes. Just like he shouted and retreated in ignorance, he threw himself into his resolve no matter the cost to himself. All that mattered was bettering the world and atoning for his errors. If dying meant fixing everything, then he would die. If never being happy again would fix it, then he would live his life in guilt and shame, a worthless, pathetic replica who shouldn't have been born, who didn't have a purpose or a reason to exist.
See what I mean about Luke hitting himself hard? Luckily, his friends - especially Tear, Guy and Mieu - would often tell him to knock that off. But for Luke, finding a reason to be alive was a crucial part of himself. He promised to change himself but what 'self'? He didn't have a place at home or with the nobility anymore, not in his mind. He put so much into fixing the mistakes of his past that he couldn't live in the now as he had before. Ironically he became bound to the Akzeriuth incident despite his claims long ago that binding oneself to the past meant no future.
It wasn't until faced with the prospect of disappearing and truly dying - in fact right as he was because Luke is just that slow on the uptake - that Luke realised he wanted to live. Dying was terrifying and even if he didn't know what place he had in the world or what good he could do, he wanted to live. That resolve stayed with him and shaped him through the endgame into finally taking steps to accept himself.
What reason he had been 'born' doesn't matter. He's here and alive. He has a life while so many have been denied that. Many have died, too, for him to live now. For them and for himself, he has to live. In the end he was even able to tell Asch and Van, the two who denied his existence as valid the most, that he deserved to live as his own person, no matter what they thought.
Now, that isn't to say he's perfect. He'll still doubt and worry. He made a promise to his friends before disappearing but he knows the reality is that he might not be able to keep it. Despite his life being worth so much, he can't deny that he's a replica with a different fate in store for him. Reconciling these issues won't be easy on him as he didn't have to think about it before. He'll have to now.
But despite how much he might have to think about such deep questions like his purpose and existence, he's still a kid. He loves to tease his friends, roll his eyes at their antics and yell at them to shut up when they tease him too much. He gets flustered and whines, he huffs and stomps off and he can have a serious case of foot in mouth when it comes talking to others. He's still learning and growing up and it really, really shows.
That's what's so great about Luke. His flaws and good points alike are strong. He might get into a fight fast but he'll equally care deeply about someone he just met. He has a long way to go even now but he's resolved to keep going. His friends supported him and many people who are now gone did as well. He asked them to watch over him as hew grew and changed. Now he has to keep his end of the bargain.
Debt: Ahahaha- Anyway. As far as debts go, Luke would readily admit that he has so much blood on his hands, from his actions and ignorance, that there's no way to ever erase them. He needs to work the rest of his life with the sincere wish to bring happiness to the world. So while he'll be working with that debt in mind, he doesn't believe that this is the way to fix them, by simply passively accepting that as his debt and working it off. He's just not doing enough.
But instead in exchange for working the debt, he'll ask that at the end, the Witch fix Auldrant's upcoming energy crisis since they got rid of the Planet Storm. He'll also ask for the promise that the miasma will never threaten the planet again. Core stability is very important. In short, as long as the Witch can promise Auldrant's prosperity, then even if Luke is fated to fade away, he can feel satisfied that he did the very best that he could to ensure the happiness of everyone. He knows it's a tall order but he'll work his best.
Suitability: As implied above, Luke has spent a lot of time feeling crushing guilt over everything that's happened, whether it was his fault or not, and one thing he and the party say repeatedly is to "just do what you can." Even if he feels helpless, as long as he's doing the most he can do to help others, he's doing his best. Guy told him "Just help people. Use the rest of your life to make everyone in the world happy." and to put that much effort into it while Tear told him to "Perhaps you should spend your life bearing that responsibility, never forgetting" even if she admitted it was too vague. Still, both of these statements and that conversation had a deep impact on him.
Working hard for the sake of others, using his life to bring happiness and ease the burdens he helped cause... those are things he'll do anything for. Labouring under the witch is just fine by him. It's a great thing to do with the last flickers of his life.

- His diary and a pencil (or whatever they use idk)
Abilities, Strengths, and Weaknesses:
Luke is a swordsman at heart, using what's called the Albert style which goes for slower but harder hits. In other words, he really likes bludgeoning things with his sword. Most of his attacks are also not so great for combos and only hit a couple of times for heavy damage. Also notable is that Luke does occasionally imbue his attacks with an elemental attribute (I'll get to that below) or just add in his fists. Considering he is apparently pretty good in an all-out brawl I'm guessing he's just good at bludgeoning things in general so there you go.
As far as the elements go, Luke is capable of using the main six fonons of the game (Wind/Sylph, Fire/Efreet, Earth/Gnome, Water/Undine, Dark/Shadow and Light/Rem) in his attacks. He is also capable of using the seventh fonon of sound, which has many applications mostly based in healing and status effect type attacks but he doesn't know how too do too much with that outside of some super basic self-healing. What Luke can do with it is cause a hyperressonance which is a powerful matter transforming ability which can break down and rearrange matter on a fonon level. He is also now capable of a second-order hyperresonance in which matter is completely neutralized.
But neither version of hyperresonance is actually useful in battle or for anything aside from mass destruction or, apparently, writing things on ancient technology so it's really unlikely to ever come up at all. It's just here for completion's sake.
In addition he can do two different mystic artes which for the sake of playing I'll just say they're really strong attacks that take a lot out of him so that's why you don't just mystic arte the shit out of everything. Anyway the first is Radiant Howl and the second is Lost Fon Drive, the latter of which he can't do without the Key of Lorelei and being in a sort of desperate situation so these are also both unlikely to come up.
He also has very little ability to cook please don't ask him to cook like okay it will be better than Natalia's but that's like saying well look I managed to put a slice of meat between two slices of bread.
Luke isn't really good at anything else he was raised a spoiled noble I don't know what you want here. He is good at smacking things with a sword.
StrengthsCompassion for just about everything and everyone. He still thanked Van as Van died despite Van, you know, trying to destroy the world. He feels compassion for his enemies and friends and strangers.
Willpower which is funny for someone who spends most of his time unsure if he should have been born. But even during those times of deep depression and self-hatred, he managed to keep going. That kind of strength is hard to shake and a little scary to be on the receiving end of.
WeaknessesLiteral child is kind of a big one. Although he's been forced to grow up fast after his isolated life, he's still a kid and he'll have bouts of stupidity, selfishness, brattiness and well... look he's a seven year old boy.
Atonement can actually be a huge weakness. Sure it's great that he takes things so seriously but he gets so caught up in it that he gets tunnel vision. That includes the wish he made to the Witch. It's still an extension of making up for what he's done and he'll do just about anything to make it come true.
